How to Cook/Use Couscous

If you are tired of eating the same old "carb" staples like rice, potatoes, quinoa, etc., give couscous a try.  BONUS:  It is SUPER easy to make.  Literally takes only 5 minutes.  Check out some recipes below:


Couscous & Chickpeas


- 1 cup of couscous

- 1 cup of chickpeas

- 1 1/2 cups of water or broth

- 1 teaspoon of olive oil



- Boil water and olive oil

- Add couscous and stir

- Remove pot from heat and let stand for 5 minutes

- Fluff the couscous with a fork and add the chickpeas

- Add any spices you like


Macaroni Couscous & Cheese


- 1 cup of couscous

- 1 tablespoon of olive oil

- 1 red bell pepper (diced)

- 2 cloves of garlic (minced)

- 1 1/2 cups of broth

- 1 small chopped onion

- 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheese



- Heat oil in a pan and add bell pepper, onion, and garlic

- Cook for 6 minutes

- Add broth and boil

- Add couscous and remove from heat for 5 minutes

- Fluff couscous with a fork and stir in the shredded cheese
